From Nimble Start-up to A-List Advisors

Childhood friends Richard Rosenberg and Laurence Finger share a brother-like bond. Setting up SRLV together in the late 80s, the essence of a family-run business was in the DNA from day one.

People were always at the heart of SRLV. The relationships of trust and collaboration we share with them were, and still are, at the very core of everything we do – whether with clients, our network of referrers, peers or staff.

  • 1988

    Where it all began

After stints with other practices, firm friends Richard and Laurence formed a partnership targeting fledgling actors and aspiring singers, as well as utilising music and fashion industry connections. Here, in highlights, we share the story of a nimble start-up’s evolution to £20m+ turnover business with an enviable roster of A list, corporate and private clients across the globe.

  • 1996

    Strategic Expansion

The purchase of Sedley Morris brought a significant gear-change; with larger, successful businesses on the books in need of an audit and corporate finance services, it was time to expand further. In 1996 corporate specialist, Marc Voulters, joined from a Big Four firm, adding the final letter to our name.

  • 1997

    International networking

With a burgeoning base of larger, fast growing clients, a wider network of international expertise was essential. Starting in London and New York, we handpicked associates with the same ethos of excellence and senior-level expertise. Today, Premier International has 23 partner firms around the world.

  • 2013

    Scoring a century

Recruitment and internal promotion recognised outstanding contribution and boosted partner numbers, with heavyweights in a range of premium industries, while specialist staff numbers hit a hundred.

  • The Ethos

Our approach was always about building the strongest relationship we could with the client. We were honest with them when a lot of people around them weren’t; this earned us their trust.

    Bursting at the seams

Our fourth major move took us to Fitzrovia where we stretched out into newly refurbished open plan offices, once a sewing machine factory when the area was the heart of the rag trade in the 60s - 80s. Hybrid working was part of the move strategy so, fortunately, we already had the tech in place that would become so essential for pandemic working.

  • 2020

    Carrying on through COVID

Nine months after joining ETL Global, a Top 15 ranked network of tax, legal, audit and accounting specialists, all energy was on supporting clients through COVID. Many music artists and actors were grounded and our hospitality clients closed. They bounced back but these were tough times for us all; knowledge, resourcefulness and ingenuity was key to survival.

  • Today

    A thriving business

Our multi-disciplinary practice of 180 talented people across four divisions, specialising in a wide range of premium industries, is going from strength to strength. The relationships of trust we share with people underpin us – with clients, staff, our network of referrers and peers.

We’re a bigger, ‘Professionalised’ organisation now where excellence is paramount, but we also want to be a happy, nurturing place too.

Our Clients

Diverse & Inspiring

With our roots firmly in the creative world of music and entertainment, we have a roster of singers, songwriters, musicians, actors, models, digital content creators and sports stars. Behind the talent sits their support network so we also advise record labels, managers, agencies, producers, directors and theatres.

Sitting alongside the creative division is a weighty portfolio of corporate clients in the premium hospitality, luxury retail and real estate industries, among others. Entrepreneurial owner managed businesses in a range of sectors and the complex financial needs of the high net-worth families behind these companies, as well as those of our artist clients, make up the final two divisions.

So, from Michelin starred restaurant groups and boutique labels to prime property and the largest festival group in the UK, we have an inspiringly diverse client base often with complex financial needs. We’re fortunate that most of our work comes through referral and recommendation. Once we win a client, it’s almost always the beginning of a lifelong partnership.

Our Divisions

Our People

Listening, Asking,
Taking Action

Many of our partners and staff have been with the firm for years, thriving on the diversity and calibre of work, as well as the relaxed, nurturing culture. They build long-standing relationships of trust with their clients and each other which are rewarding for everyone. From all our people, we ask for two fundamental commitments:

  • To be genuinely interested in their clients – asking, listening and thinking.
  • To care about their success, whatever form it takes.

In return, for this personal investment in clients we invest in training to help people develop and strengthen their skills; we encourage them to carve out their own niche, to be “the specialist”. We recognise and reward hard work and talent, and we try to have some fun along the way!

There is real personality and buzz at SRLV. We work hard but people here can genuinely be themselves.
